5 nights in Crete

We went on a short 5-night break to Crete in July and really enjoyed our first visit there. We flew from Birmingham and had a short transfer of around 30mins to our hotel the Knossos Beach Bungalows and Suites. Perfect for a short trip and to visit Heraklion as the bus stop was right outside the hotel 2E and we were in there within 30mins!

We visited the Palace Knossos itself and worth a visit at 15E per person entrance. We used the hop on hop off bus as it went all the way out there and we got to see and learn a bit more about the history of Crete and Heraklion.

The hotel we stayed in is more adult focused - children are welcomed but as it is a smallish family run hotel - the owner "lives" there and is nearly 100 years old! Her family run it now. It does not have kids’ clubs or entertainment. We had a piano player and singer a couple of nights, but mostly it was sitting and enjoying the wine and watching the sunset! There is a buffet restaurant on site and two a la carte restaurants as well.

Would I go back to Crete? Most definitely and would visit some more of the Island. But as a taster it was perfect for what we wanted!
