One of Europe’s most fascinating hotels, the Villa San Michele, is located on the Fiesole Hills in Florence. It offers a postcard perfect view of the city below. Belmond Villa San Michele has 45 guest rooms and suites and boasts amazing views of the Italian gardens, private woodland and hills of Fiesole from most of the rooms. For golfers there is an 18-hole golf at Golf Club Ugolino, approximately 30 minutes’ drive away and for the tennis players you can play in Nearby Fiesole. Babysitting available on request and they also have the complimentary kids Concierge. There's plenty of exploration to be had in the nearby area from Tuscanys Art Park, travelling through time following in Leonardo Da Vinci’s footsteps, you could even head to a picturesque farm hidden in the stunning Chianti hill and meet the animals whilst learning how quality cashmere is crafted, perhaps top the day off with a tasting of the local Chianti wine? If you take a trip to Florence you can seek out the little-known boutiques, savour local delicacies. Celebrity Edge European Premier

16 May 2019

On 13-15th May 2019, I was among 2000 VIPs in Europe to be invited to join the European Premiere of the newest member to the fleet - Celebrity Edge. I started my travel career as a cruise specialist 14 years ago and I have never experienced a ship quite like this one. Celebrity enlisted Kelly Hoppen MBE at the very beginning to help design this ship, and it so shows. Every space onboard is designed to perfection, at one point I had forgotten I was on a ship. I stayed in an “Infinite Balcony” stateroom, where at the touch of a button, your entire living space becomes your balcony. I viewed all the lead in room categories. I was really impressed with the size of the inside stateroom, these would comfortably fit a family of 4. The outside staterooms are at the forward of the ship and have amazing floor to ceiling windows, again with a huge feeling of space. The highlight for me were the Edge Villas. There are six of them, two-storey luxury residences, the first of their kind in the fleet. Each offers a spacious 950-square-feet of split-level splendour with one bedroom or two bathrooms, making it perfect for up to four guests. There is also an outdoor living space with a private seating area and plunge pool, and they also have direct access to The Retreat, an exclusive area for suite-class guests. Onto the rest of the ship. First off, the Magic Carpet (the big orange thing on the side of the ship!) You go here for jaw-dropping views as you soar over the ocean. Now this really is an incredible feat of engineering; it is the world’s first cantilevered, floating platform, reaching 13 stories above sea level. The Magic Carpet is a multi-purpose venue, with its mood and function changing with its position. At the top of the ship, the Magic Carpet becomes an extraordinary venue, where al fresco dining is taken to the next level, and you’ll be able to enjoy sumptuous fare on the glass-fronted balcony. Down on Deck 14, it becomes a stunning extension of the main pool area, while on Deck 5, it serves as an unforgettable, open-air dining experience, offering a unique seafood menu throughout the day. Next up to tell you about is Eden. This is another feature of Celebrity’s outward-facing vision, they have created three levels of sensory experiences completely wrapped in glass. With over 11,800 square feet of event space, Eden features a lively, open-air kitchen and menus that deliver sensory and experiential dishes served by performance artists. There’s also entertainment produced by Variety Worldwide – a leader in fusing non-traditional theatre with nightlife and dining – making for incredible evening experiences, while in the morning, Eden is used as a relaxation space where guests can unwind. I enjoyed a quiet breakfast here during my short stay. I watched a show onboard called “A Hot Summers Night Dream”. My mind was blown, I have never seen such a high standard of theatre production a ship before. Edge has a fully contemporary theatre where everything from whimsical productions to edgy experiences take place. I took a trip to deck 3 to see “Camp at Sea” and the provisions that are in place for children. They have an interactive learning space for children, with over 500 activities and enriching daily programmes based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Another great area onboard is the Resort Deck; a multi-functional paradise that merges modern luxury and cool innovation with a rooftop garden, live musical performances and much more. Whether you want to clear your mind, keep up your fitness regime or simply rest and revitalise, The Spa on Celebrity Edge is where you need to be. The Spa’s SEA (playing on the theme of SEA - Sea, Earth and Air) Thermal Suites feature eight distinctive therapeutic experiences, all inspired by nature to create one incredible place to relax and connect with fellow wellness enthusiasts, while a varied menu of treatments and therapies is available, from soothing sound therapy to an ELEMIS® Thousand Flower Detox Wrap. I had a great time onboard; I didn’t feel like I was on a cruise ship. More like a 5* resort, the food and service just could not be faulted. I was so impressed I’ve even booked myself a cruise for next year on Celebrity Apex which is going to be Edges identical sister ship!

Fes, Morocco

29 April 2019

Team member Ben was invited by the Moroccan Tourism board for a 3 night trip to learn all about what the City of Fes in Morocco has to offer. Here is his report: I met the 11 other travel agents at the meeting point in London Gatwick airport. We were flying with Air Arabia who are a low-cost airline operating across the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia and Europe. Security didn’t take long as we had Gatwick Premium passes (which I would recommend). The flight to Fes is only 3 hours – one thing to note if you consider flying with Air Arabia it is an Arabic airline, so no alcohol is served onboard. Fes airport is not at all large and as our flight was relatively quiet, getting through security was very quick (as a British national I had to fill in a landing card before entering, but it was very simple). It was now already past midnight and so I was pleased to learn that it was just a short 20 minute transfer to the Palais Medina & Spa where we’d be staying for the duration of our stay. I woke up with the North African sun breaking through my curtains. I pulled them open and revealed a fantastic view overlooking the hotel pool area and, in the distance, I could see the city centre. My room was huge; complete with a big comfy bed, seating area and a large bathroom with bath and shower (over the bath). There was also a mini-bar (extra charge), a safe and plenty of wardrobe space. After breakfast at our hotel we met Abdel who would be our guide for the next couple of days. He was a very happy character and an extremely proud Moroccan. He was passionate about his home land and very knowledgeable, informing us with lots of facts as we travelled. On the journey we stopped at a few prime spots to take some pictures overlooking Fes. We visited a pottery and were shown the process of how the locals make the mosaics and create the wonderfully colourful pottery. Next stop was Fes Médina. Motorised vehicles are not allowed in the souks so we parked up and wandered around the narrow, traditional streets of Fes. I’ve not visited Morocco before but I was informed by several members in our group who had, that Fes had a much more relaxed, laid back feel to it compared with the very popular Marrakesh. The Médina was very authentic with lots of history and culture. Walking through there are so many different smells, some delicious, some not so much. On the subject of smells, we were taken to the largest tannery in Africa. This is where they make leather from animals such as cows, camels, sheep and goats. The whole process takes 3 months and the smells produced can be quite pungent so they give you a sprig of mint to hold to your nose if it gets too much. Being low season during our visit, the temperature was only in the early 20’s but in the summer it can reach 40 degrees and above which I’m sure doesn’t help with the smell. In my opinion if you are wanting to visit the Médina and Souks of Fes, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to arrange for a guide (in advance) for the day as you could very easily get lost but also its someone local to guide you to the best spots and advise you of what to do (or not do). For lunch we visited Riad Myra in the Médina. Riads are traditional Moroccan houses, characterised by having an inner courtyard or garden. The food was very authentic and very tasty. We were then given a tour of some of the accommodation available. In the evening we were taken for pre-dinner drinks at Sahrai Hotel. This is located outside of the Medina. There isn’t really a nightlife scene in Fes but this hotel had a rooftop bar/terrace with great views, a DJ playing music and is somewhere locals and tourists alike would come to relax and enjoy a couple of drinks (but only until around midnight when they close). For dinner, we were back in the Medina at Riad Palais Amani. The owners/managers were very welcoming and allowed us to explore their accommodation before serving us a lovely 3 course dinner of traditional Moroccan flavours and we sampled some local wine – well worth a taste! On day 2 we were off to visit Ifrane which is a town in the Mid-Atlas mountains. Did you know that Morocco had ski resorts? Here, you could certainly see the French influence in the architecture with the alpine-style buildings. No snow at this time of year but there can be quite a bit during the winter months. We had been invited to the 5-star Michlifen Golf & Spa resort in Ifrane for lunch. This was a stunning resort with a variety of rooms available and prices ranging between £250 and £12,000 per night (the higher end of the scale being for the 2-bedroom Presidential Suite). We were also lucky enough to have use of the on site spa where I enjoyed a Balneotherapy treatment along with a fantastic head massage. We returned to our hotel in Fes via the City of Meknès which has approx. 45km of walls all around it. You need to get here before 5, if you arrive after 5 like we did, you will find most things are closed. Althouhg we were able to see some of the stunning architecture this city has to offer. The main square in Meknès is Place Hedim and this was starting to get very busy at the time of our visit. There was a variety of stalls selling all sorts from clothing, to pottery, to food. Dinner this evening was at another local Riad - Palias Faraj. Again, there was lots of traditional décor and the staff were very friendly. The food was colourful & tasty and we were once again treated to some Moroccan wine from one of the many vineyards they have (something else which I learned). On my final day I didn’t have a great deal of time before making my way back to the airport for my flight home. In the few hours that I had I made use of the hotel facilities - perfect weather for a refreshing did in the pool! I would just like to mention and thank the fabulous Moroccan Tourism Board for putting together my itinerary for the trip. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Fes. If you are looking for something that’s ‘off the beaten track’ whilst taking in lots of history and culture, then I would recommend it. As its only a 3 hour flight from Gatwick, it’s great for a short break or as a stop in a multi-centre trip. Direct flights depart the UK from Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin.

JA Manafaru, Maldives

03 January 2019

In September 2018 I visited the most northern resort in the Maldives – JA Manafaru. On arrival in Male airport I was greeted by a rep holding a beautiful wooden sign stating “JA Manafaru” (I noticed the other resorts reps simply had laminates or pieces of paper). With a friendly smile our bags were taken to the Air Maldives desk, we were promptly checked-in and then whisked to an air-conditioned SUV - very important to note as it was so humid! This vehicle had a lovely video playing on the back of the headrests, giving us a wonderful sample of what was to come. JA Manafaru have a private lounge where you can refresh with a shower, fill up on some food and relax in comfy chairs. As we had been the last ones to arrive, we didn’t spend long here before boarding our seaplane. The seaplane transfer took 90 minutes, I loved looking out of the window and seeing the gorgeous Maldivian islands below. As we came into land there were staff waiting and waving to us from below. We were greeted with a refreshing drink, introduced to our personal villa host and taken by golf buggy to our beachfront villa. Wow. Our beach bungalow with private pool was spacious, air-conditioned and well equipped with a private pool, flat-screen TV, Nespresso coffeemaker, free Wi-Fi and complimentary daily fruit. During my stay I was given a full tour of the island (travel agent perk “don’t cha know” – if you can take a peek at my Facebook business page and watch the live video of the grand water two-bedroom suite (with private infinity pool!) All accommodations were finished to a high standard, if you were trying to make your budget go a bit further, I’d recommend splitting your stay between a beach and an over-water villa. Whilst I stayed here, an incentive trip was being held which for me in my profession was great to see how they managed – expertly I will add, I would have no hesitation in referring my incentive groups to Manafaru. The resort hosts 7 dining options including high quality restaurant Kakuni, seafood venue Ocean Grill, Mediterranean Andiamo Bistro, live music spot Horizon Lounge and The Cellar which stocks a range of fine vintages. My favourite was White Orchid with its Asian fusion cuisine and stunning views – we ate here 3 times during our 5 night stay! (I am a big lover of sushi). The food quality, service and presentation were outstanding. I visited the spa and had a wonderful Maldivian traditional full body massage and luxury pedicure. I can honestly say it was the most beautiful spa I’ve ever been to. One of the activities on offer at JA Manafaru is a “Castaway Experience”? You can sail off on an adventure to one of JA’s two uninhabited islands for the ultimate luxury experience, a truly secluded retreat to call your own. This experience is perfect for a day of romantic strolls along white sandy beaches or completely private snorkelling in azure waters. There are many activities to do - We snorkelled and saw the most beautiful fish. At 4pm each day you could view the fish feeding – there were some families on the island whose children looked like they were having great fun throwing the feed in. There is a marine biologist. The island is so well equipped for children of all ages with a playful hideaway for younger children and a trendy area for the teens. Both are manned by qualified experience childcare staff. I am sure I have missed something in this review, should you have any questions please just give me a ring. I’m more than happy to discuss the resort and whether it would suit your needs.

24 Hours in Dubai

25 September 2018

With limited time in Dubai I wanted to make the most of it. I stayed at the Habtoor Grand Resort in Jumeirah Beach. Upon arrival we were given a refreshing drink and a chocolate lollipop. I am a stickler for service and little touches, so for me this was a great first impression. We had booked a standard room but were told that we have been upgraded to a Tower Sea View room. Wow, this hotel. As you walk around the corridors you can spot all the finishing touches on the décor make the hotel feel so special. Even in the room the turquoise walls with the opulent gold touches give the sense of elegance. With 16 themed bars and restaurants I do wish I’d had more time to try them all but as I had booked on a half-board basis and we were going to a show that night we decided to use our meal up at lunch time in the buffet restaurant. The choice was varied and high quality, service by waiting staff prompt and cheerful. On the first night we went to see the water fountain display which is in front of the Burj Khalifa - a must-see for sure. We then took part in a bit of shopping in the Dubai Mall. Whilst in Hong Kong earlier this year I had seen “The House of Dancing Water” by Director Franco Dragone and it was there I had learnt about his other show in Dubai named “La Perle”. I have had clients unable to go as they hadn’t pre-booked, so I booked before travel and I wasn’t disappointed. If you enjoy a theatrical spectacle full of a mixture of Chinese dragons, dancing, acrobats, trapeze, swimming and motorbikes (yes, really) I would strongly recommend seeing this show intertwine them all with immersive technology. For this show, words cannot describe what you will see and seeing in believing. On our final day we checked out of the hotel and left our cases at the hotel as our flight wasn’t until late in the evening. My other must-do whilst you’re in Dubai would be the afternoon tea offering at At.Mosphere which is an upscale fine dining restaurant and bar on the 122nd floor of the iconic Burj Khalifa. The views were incredible, and they had a fabulous violinist serenading which just felt so special. Service could not be faulted, it was impeccable. Don’t go expecting your traditional English afternoon tea; the first offering was a plate of 6 “sandwiches”, followed by a small hot main course (I had a very special chicken and mashed potato) which was finished with a tower of sweet delicacies. And throughout the food you are served non-stop champagne/fizzy wine (depending on your budget), tea, mocktails and water. We still had a few hours to spare before needing to go to the airport, so we made the most of a quick swim in the hotel pool and enjoyed our final hours of the balmy weather looking at the lit-up views with a cocktail in hand – heaven! I will go back to Dubai as 24 hours is not nearly enough to squeeze everything in.

Massachusetts in April

01 September 2018

Last year in April my family, friends and I enjoyed a wonderful trip to Massachusetts, staying in Boston and exploring the surrounding area. From burgers, Red Sox, and pilgrims to a chance encounter with some A-list celebs, it was a highlight of our year. Flights out from London Heathrow with Delta Airlines were very comfortable, showing a wide range of TV shows, films and music to keep us (but mainly our young children) entertained. Exceptionally friendly and helpful cabin crew made what could have been a very long haul much more enjoyable. On arrival into Boston airport we were efficiently directed through security. There were no problems collecting our bags and we were presented with information on where to go to sort out the hire car that we had already booked with Alamo. Once arriving at the desk, we were greeted with a very friendly face – just what you need after a long flight. The lady talked us through our hire arrangements and it became clear that as there was six of us (all with large bags) we may not have hired a big enough car. However, this was not a problem and an alternative car was arranged immediately. Whilst my husband, Ben, was arranging this I noticed some activity at the other end of the airport so strolled up to see what all the fuss was about. I can’t tell you how excited and amazed I was to see two of my favourite actors, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg stood just a few feet away. They were there filming scenes for their upcoming film Daddy’s Home 2. I watched intently for a while until my husband called asking where I’d got to - oops! We were taken to our new car for the week - it was massive and perfect for use on our forthcoming excursions. The main aim for our trip to the States was to visit friends who we’d not seen for a long time. It was only a relatively short trip but as well as catching up on old times, we were also keen to see as much of the surrounding area as possible. Our friends’ beautiful home in the gorgeous town of Newburyport (around 45 minutes north of Boston) was the base for the duration of our trip. This coastal town offers an array of shops, bars and restaurants and there’s a lovely welcoming feel to the place. As you drive around, you get to see some stunning, old, traditional wooden built houses - all very unique. The weather can be hit and miss in Boston - they certainly do experience all four seasons with extremely cold winters and hot summers. We were very fortunate that the weather was very pleasant during our stay, allowing us to see this gorgeous town in its best light. Following a couple of days of relaxation, we left our friends at home and went to visit another coastal town called Plymouth, south of Boston. Our reason for visiting was that our two travel companions love witnessing living-history, specifically from the 17th Century. Plymouth is the site of the first pilgrim settlement bank. Our friends had heard of a place called the Plymouth Plantation and were keen to go and see what it had to offer. This living history museum exhibits an original pilgrim settlement. As we were also travelling with our two young children we decided not to go along with them but had full reports back and were reliably informed that it was a fascinating place and well worth the trip for anyone with any interest in American history. It was another glorious day - the sun was out, and refreshing breeze drifted off of the sea. We decided to park the car and explore what Plymouth had to offer. Again, the first thing we noticed was how beautifully picturesque the town was. The gorgeous traditional houses line every road, each one with its own individual style and finish. We really felt that we were walking around the set of a classic American film. The town itself is not big but littered with small boutique shops and lovely bars and restaurants. We decided to eat at a place overlooking the stunning coastline where we had some of the tastiest seafood ever eaten. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day and were very happy to have made the trip. On the Saturday before ‘Patriots Day’ day we explored Boston. Patriots Day takes place on the third Monday of April, and is the equivalent to our bank holiday, everyone has a day off school and work to remember the battles that took place near Boston. It’s also the day when the Boston marathon is held. The city was buzzing, not only with runners and spectators waiting for the upcoming marathon in a couple of days, but with a very large security presence (to be expected after the tragedy of the 2013 marathon where terrorists set off two bombs). Roads were cordoned off or closed which unfortunately made exploring more difficult. Everyone was pulling together to arrange this great event and tourists and locals alike were all having a good time. There is a huge park in the centre of Boston and as it was, once again, a lovely sunny day we spent a lot of time there enjoying the views, eating ice creams and taking the kids on the boating lake. Of course, no visit to Boston would be complete without going for a drink in the ‘Cheers’ Bar (the setting of the famous 80’s TV show of the same name). Just be careful - there's more than one! As mentioned previously I have a bit of a soft spot for Mark Wahlberg who just happens to come from Boston. I had seen a TV show called Wahlburgers which follows his family as they open their own chain of burger restaurants and I just had to go and try it out (obviously with the hope that he’d be there too). Sadly, he wasn’t but the food was delicious with a wide range of burgers and sides being offered. It was my 30th birthday I treated myself to one of their desserts called the Fluffanutta, which combined some of my personal faves (Marshmallow Fluff, banana and Nutella) – it was absolutely no good for my waistline but incredibly delicious. One final activity which my husband could not leave Boston without completing was to catch a game of Baseball at the iconic Fenway Park. He’s a huge lover of American sports and so, wearing newly purchased Red Sox T-shirt, off he went to the game with our friends. The atmosphere was electric, beers flowing (although at $10 each not that many) and Neil Diamond’s classic song, ‘Sweet Caroline’, passionately sung by most of the fans. The Boston Red Sox ended up winning the game which meant most people left with smiles on their faces. All in all, we had a fantastic time in the state of Massachusetts and will definitely return again.

Macao, China

02 July 2018

I simply had no idea that there are so many things to be discovered in Macao. Macao is located on the south coast of China, just 40 miles from Hong Kong. It has an old-world charm, with a unique Chinese and Portuguese heritage. The Macao Peninsula is made from two islands Taipa and Coloane, and the reclaimed area of Cotai. I was lucky enough to stay in the fabulous Mandarin Oriental, where the service is exceptional and no ask is too big. The little "MO" touches were there throughout, from egg tarts on arrival to the nightly turn-down service. It's so intriguing to see the Portuguese influence which can be seen in everything from the stunning architecture to the legendary food, still going strong from the Portuguese arrival in the 1500s. Among Macao’s greatest treasures is the UNESCO World Heritage Site, ‘The Historic Centre of Macao’. This is made up of 30 buildings and monuments of both Portuguese and Chinese origin. The area boasts impressive architecture, temples and colourful streets. Taking pride of place is the iconic Ruins of St Paul’s – the façade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei, destroyed by fire in 1835, the crimson A-Ma Temple, and the elegant Senado Square – Macao’s urban centre surrounded by traditional Portuguese cobblestones and pastel-coloured neo-classical buildings. A highlight of my time in Macao was our trip to Coloane, to the Macao Giant Panda Pavillion at Seac Pai Van Park. Home to two giant pandas, Kai Kai and Xin Xin, last June Xin Xin gave birth to twins – which are the first pandas to be born in the destination. The pavilion is a 3,000-square-metre state-of-the-art facility where visitors can view playing, eating and bathing - or just sleeping as the day that I visited! The food was not what I expected, there was Portuguese, Chinese and all kinds of international cuisines. Signature Macanese dishes worth a try include 'Galinha à Africana' (African chicken made with coconut and spices) and Macanese Chilli Shrimps. Another must try are the Pastéis de Nata (Portuguese egg tarts). A highlight of this trip was my visit to ‘The House of Dancing Water’ show. Featuring 90 minutes of spectacular high-dive acrobatics, high-wire stunts and fountain effects, it’s an awe-inspiring show sure to take your breath away!

Hong Kong

02 July 2018

Recently I was fortunate enough to visit Hong Kong I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. This iconic hotel has presided over bustling Victoria Harbour for around 50 years as the skyline of Hong Kong has shot up. My favourite fact about this hotel is that when it was built it was the tallest building in Hong Kong. The Mandarin Oriental reflects its Asian routes whilst also encompassing some more British traditions, such as serving afternoon tea! Rooms come fully equipped for the modern luxury traveller and you can also recover from bustling city in this within the luxurious spa. Recommended places to eat There are so many to choose from in this multicultural city. These two are definitely worth a visit: Tim Ho Wan, one of the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurants in the world. A meal for four came to the equivalent of under £20! The prawn and pork dim sum are worth the almost 12-hour flight alone. Solas Gastro Lounge serves Wagyu Foie Gras Sliders washed down with an ice-cold fruit Daiquiri! Need I say more! Cultural experience No doubt about it, Hong Kong surprised me. From the awe-inspiring view from Victoria Peak or for the Symphony of the Stars light show from the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, I just was not prepared for the sights and smells of Hong Kong. Against the verdant terrain, glittering skyscrapers have never looked so beautiful. One of my favourite days was spent a day doing a trek on Lamma Island, followed by a fabulous fresh seafood lunch. I am also pleased I made time to visit Tian Tam - aka the "Big Buddha". Had I more time I would have liked to have walked the trek to Tian Tam but the cable car journey was fabulous. If you’re bound for Hong Kong and would like to speak to someone with first-hand experience then please do get in touch!

Independence of the Seas, Europe

02 July 2018

I had a taste of this ship back in 2008 when I went on board Independence of the Seas to celebrate her launch and I always wanted to sail on her. I travelled with my husband Ben and four friends. I chose this mini-cruise as it happened to depart on Ben’s birthday and cruises are convenient for us as we live just outside Southampton. Knowing that it was only three nights we decided the cabin choice didn't need to be extravagant. We booked an ocean view stateroom and we were allocated cabin 3632. I found the cabin to be well equipped and comfortable. Embarkation times were 11:30-16:30. As we live close by we opted to arrive at 15:00. We were pleased to be told by the port staff we had arrived at the right time, there were no queues and we waltzed through very quickly and totally hassle-free. When it came to disembarkation there were no grumbles again; we were first off (at 6.30am!) The food was excellent, we ate mostly in the a la carte "Macbeth" main dining room. This is a three-tier beautiful dining room. We did venture to the "Windjammer" buffet restaurant on two occasions which had a huge array of foods available. My friends had not cruised before and were amazed at the opportunity to eat 24 hours a day, a particular hit with the group were the pizza and sushi. The service provided in the bars was impeccable. Having purchased the ultimate drinks package, our group worked our way around most bar. My personal favourite was the "Schooner" bar where they had a live pianist playing. Our first port was Zeebrugge. We took the transfer provided by Royal Caribbean straight to Bruges. We had all been here before, so we enjoyed a wander round the shops and admired the lace and chocolates that were in abundance. We ended up finding a wonderful beer bar and spent the afternoon tasting Belgian beers. Our second port of call on the three-night cruise was Le Havre, where two of our group travelled to nearby fishing village Honfleur. The other four of our group including myself took a tour of the Second World War landing beaches, truly breath-taking and thought provoking. I would recommend this trip to anyone. There was such a choice of entertainment, we didn't know where to start! We went to the Broadway style show in the Alhambra theatre, this was a production of Grease - as I had anticipated it was excellent. We also did a few quizzes and would have done ice skating, archery etc. had we had more time. One evening we took our Miami Vice cocktails (half strawberry daiquiri, half Pina colada) into one of the amazing cantilevered whirlpools. I also enjoyed the late-night comedy show they had on board. I would definitely cruise with Royal Caribbean again. The service was great as were the facilities, cleanliness and choice of entertainment. Until next time!
