It's Nice To Meet You

Hello and welcome to my page.

I have always loved to travel it is quite honestly my favourite thing to do. Another passion is delivering excellent service and by showing you the benefits of the personal touch, I believe I can make booking your trip as enjoyable as the adventure itself.

I love ALL travel, city breaks, UK breaks, cruises, skiing, beach breaks, lakes and mountains, long haul, theme parks, theatre - you name it. My husband and I enjoyed long haul travel more pre children, but with them we have had some amazing adventure to Lapland, Florida and Europe. I can't wait to explore more of the world with them! More long haul and a safari is definitely on my list.

I manage business travel for clients whose jobs take them away from home, I know how important it is to have a reliable business travel agent. I offer a full service including air, rail, conferencing, interview facilities, hotels, car hire and much more and all bookings are managed efficiently through our app MY TC. I am on hand out of hours to deal with those last minute changes to make the process as smooth and slick as possible. Travel Counsellors offer 24/7 cover for emergencies via me or our duty office. Business travel should not be a hassle and I believe I take the pain away for my clients allowing them to get on with the job in hand.

My travel career spans 25 years starting as an apprentice working for a high street agency at 16 and advancing to different levels within the same company. My role as a world travel consultant gave me extensive knowledge of the cruise, wedding and honeymoon sectors so much so I class myself as an expert in these areas. However, I am equally as excited by the challenge of family and couples holidays to absolutely anywhere. If you are looking for a recommendation I am only too happy to help.

Taking the hassle out of your travel arrangements is what makes being your own personal travel agent such a joy. I can assist with anything from pre booking your seats and printing boarding passes to securing that special room or organising a large group booking, nothing is too much trouble.

100% financial protection is provided on each and every booking - I know how important it is to book with someone you trust and to have confidence that your money is safe. Booking with me means avoiding the danger of losing money with websites that go in to administration or the all too familiar story of tour operators that collapse. The financial protection I offer free of charge is the best in the industry.

Thank you for visiting my page and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,
Natalie.

WARSAW

06 December 2023

Warsaw Poland's capital city is a destination of varying architecture, it is packed with history, offers an excellent transport system and has a food scene to impress. We spent 3 nights exploring and this is some of what we got up to. 85% of Warsaw was destroyed in the second world war, the now rebuilt city has reminders everywhere of the bombing and destruction it encountered. From a 3 hour bike tour (in the snow) we saw bullet holes in the pillars of the royal residence, the last surviving arches of the Saxon Palace where there is also the tomb of the unknown soldier (this is guarded 24/7 by the polish army) and the Jewish ghettos which were completely dessimated by nazi bombs. Of course the history goes back much further, the history of Warsaw spans over 1400 years so if history is your thing, Warsaw absouletly delivers. It's hard to discuss Warsaw without mentioning the food! Modern centers offer some amazing food choices and nightlife. Browar Warsaw is a converted brewery restaurant serving polish food with a modern twist, superb! Traditional polish cuisine, (think Grandma's cooking) we experienced on a food walking tour with our guide Cesar. I would absolutely recommend doing this ....walking through the old town sampling pierogi, polish sausage and pork chop, stuffed cabbage, and polish cake in the company of a local is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in to a Warsaw way of life. The transport system is effecient and cheap. We stayed out of the old town and used the metro system on the days we didn't walk. We found locals quick to help and at £8 for a weekend pass, it was very reliable. Ha! a cheap and reliable transport system what a novelty! Uber is an option and offers lots of car availability and there are trains from both of Warsaws airports to get you in to the city easily and at a low cost. Warsaw is a mixture of sky scrapers, palaces, old squares, new financial districts, war time buildings and monuments, it's this diversity that makes Warsaw an interesting city break, perhaps not as charming as Krakow in the south, but the Old Square in Warsaw does tick that box. No, Warsaw is more serious and cosmopolitan and packs a punch of culture for visitors. Go, experience it for yourself, it's usually a cheaper break to book than other big European cities and doesn't compromise on experience. ?Top tips: ??Buy a weekend pass for transport. All buses trams and trains are included and they are very cheap. We paid £8 for the weekend ??Warsaw is big so a bike tour is a great way to see the city. Do it early on to get your bearings. ??Polish cuisine is excellent but there is no way I would know what to order without a food tour, plus you get to sit down with local for a few hours and really understand the city from someone who lives there. I would recommend this everywhere you go.

Florida without Mickey Mouse?

18 September 2019

Can it be done? Well in my experience it’s a resounding yes! I have been travelling to Florida regularly over the past 7 years and have only seen Mickey twice? This part of Florida to has no McDonalds, no fast passes, and the main attraction is the beach, the wildlife, amazing food and lovely people. Longboat Key is a true bolthole, it is located south of Sarasota on the Gulf Of Mexico and it is equally split between Manatee and Sarasota counties. The beach runs the stretch of the island with the lagoon cushioning the other side. Dolphins are seen daily in their natural environment playing in the sea, we have had many come super close to the shore over the years and I remember one baby dolphin jumping out of the water at sunset (that felt rather like Disney Magic). There are also hundreds of manatees that live in these waters, often seen in the lagoon early morning whilst you are managing the jet lag, and also in the sea throughout the day. These huge sea cows move slowly, often allowing us to walk alongside them walking down the beach, much to the children’s delight. They are hugely protected in this area and rightly so, they are gorgeous big lumps of loveliness and something we don’t get to see back home. The beach stretches as far as the eye can see, often uncrowded and the evenings for us on the beach usually involve taking over a glass (bottle) of wine to watch the sunset whilst the children play once more in the sand and surf. I have countless images of that sun set and it never gets old. Both Anna Maria Island and St Armands Key neighbour LBK. Anna Maria is another beautiful rustic island with beach shacks and beach side restaurants, 2 beautiful boardwalk piers (great for spotting sea life) an amazing ice cream parlour named Two Scoops. Anna Maria’s laid-back beach vibe makes you feel like you are in the Caribbean, or the Floribbean as its affectionately known. St Armand's Circle is another must, great shopping in their rows of boutiques, an array of restaurants form Italian to sushi to 5* dining. They also have Mote aquarium which gives a great insight to the marine life that live along these shores. America is renowned for great food and this region doesn’t disappoint. Sea food is king, with scallops like hockey pucks, the freshest catch of the day either served in a paper box, not half an hour from being brought in off the fishing boats, or served more eloquently in a rooftop restaurant watching the sunset. All in all this part of Florida makes for a stunning destination and one lesser known to the UK market – the best kept secret in Florida? Well I am biased but of course I agree, it is a stunning place in its own right or can be twin centred for a beach stay, following the madness of the parks. Either way its worth a visit and I’m almost positive you will want to go time and time again.

KrakWOW

10 March 2020

My friend and I had an open page when we were looking to plan a short trip away together. We quickly decided on Krakow, the flights were cheap and I knew of its popularity to UK guests over the past 2 years or so, so we booked in for 3 nights. We had decided Auschwitz and the Wieliczkca Salt Mines were a must and spent our first day exploring both. The Salt mines are a fascinating underworld 64 metres and nearly 400 steps below surface. The sculptures and chapels are a sight to behold, nothing prepares you for the moment you arrive at the Chapel of Saint Kinga, an enormous hall lit by chandeliers that took three men 67 years to carve and decorate. The mines are a labyrinth of corridors and walkways and a guide will tell tales of how the workers mined and manoeuvred the salt over the years. TOP TIP: Go early, we arrived at 8am and the mines were quiet and go with a guide as they really bring the stories to life. Wear layers it can get warm depending on the time of year you go, in the summer it would be a great place to cool off. After visiting the mines in the morning we took the trip to Auschwitz and Birkenau in the afternoon. Nothing will prepare you for either. We are all too familiar with the tales of the holocaust but to stand there and walk through it is something that will stay with me forever. It was a very dark period in our history as humans, over 6 million Jews were exterminated during WWII, 1.1 million at Birkenau. The sheer size of Birkenau is frightening there were blocks and barracks as far as the eye can see. Visiting both sites gives some insight in to the horrors of the prisoners' ordeals, it is a very tough visit but a very important one. It is important we hear their stories and don't forget the stark warning and lessons learned. TIP: Don't self guide Auschwitz, a guide is vital and their information and accounts deserve to be heard. You can take photos but no eating drinking or using your phone and rightly so this place deserves your full attention. Eating out in Krakow is plentiful, the main square is a beautiful setting but can cost you more due to its location. On our second night in Krakow we went on a walking food tour of Krakow which was my highlight of the whole trip. We met with our guide and group in a travel book shop where we started with beers and bagels plus a local smoked cheese which was very salty and went down well with the beer. Our guide, Olga then took us to a Milk Bar which in the Soviet reign was where people went for their dairy produce but are now self service restaurants and it is here we tried Polish soup, 3 flavours smoked, sour or beetroot. All were lovely and not something I would have tried without Olga's recommendation and knowledge. As Olga guided us through the old town to the Jewish Quarter she enlightened us about the architecture and history of the city. When we arrived at the traditional Polish restaurant there was a feast of Pierogies (polish dumplings) potato pancakes (my favourite) and stuffed cabbage leaves, pudding was apple fritters and one of the best things I have ever eaten. We finished with a vodka shot in the Jewish Quarter somewhere now renowned for food and drink. The area now has 300 Jews there, there were 64,0000 living there before WWII, Krakow hopes more Jews will return. There are 7 synagogues in the city and although we didn't get to one they are worth a visit. Learning about the food the Polish people cook and enjoy really allowed us to understand their culture in a way that a city tour wouldn't do, to combine the two was genius and one I will definitely do again. The Polish can do a pudding...or dessert, or cake you name it! Their bakeries match those of Paris and breakfast on both days was coffee and a pastry or croissant in one of their many bakeries that line street corners. TOP TIP I would always avoid B&B on a city break, go room only and get out to eat like the locals do - a bakery is a great way to do that. TOP TIP - there are films you can watch and books you can read before your trip. Schindlers List I would recommend to watch (or again if you have seen it already) and I had read the Tattowist of Auschwitz (by Heather Morris) before I travelled - I now plan to read a lot more and have started on Cilka's journey (also Morris). You can visit and tour Oskar Schindler's factory to understand more about the movie and how Speilberg brought it to life and what Speilberg did for Krakow, the history of the Jews became part of the history of the city again thanks to that movie. All in all Krakow is a gem of a place, beautiful and diverse architecture, lovely people, we were overwhelmed with the friendliness of everyone we encountered, great food and a very clean city steeped in history. A definite must and a perfect city break getaway.

Skiing in stunning Saalbach

20 March 2019

This was my second visit to Austria skiing. Last time was Zell am See 12 years previously for my best friend’s wedding, this time with the same friends. We revisited Austria but this time to neighbouring Saalbach. There were 6 of us in our group, last year we went to Morzine but this time we were all keen to visit Saalbach after hearing positive feedback from fellow skiers. We flew to Munich, Innsbruck would have been closer, but we were just doing 4 nights and didn't have any flight options to support that, so we braved the long transfer (3 hours) which actually provided a welcome snooze following the early flight. The scenery coming into the resort was beautiful and as we entered Saalbach we could see what a traditional alpine village it was, and we were instantly impressed. The hotel, Eva Village was very central and even from the outside you could see it was somewhere special. In to the lobby and a welcome with a glass of fizz we could see the cosiness of the hotels bar and lounge. We all had a suite and the space and little extras in these rooms really made it worth it. To hire the ski equipment was super easy due to the central location, Intersport was 20 metres from the hotel and having already given measurements online, the pickup and fitting was fast and super-efficient so much so we could ski that afternoon. All the lifts in Saalbach are brand new and you can see the recent investment in to resort has really paid off. The lifts were all well maintained, rarely busy and operated with great efficiency. The local area lift pass covers a vast area not possible to cover in 3 days but excellent value for money. Tip: your lift pass is valid from 3pm the day before your duration begins so worth bearing in mind for arrival day if you get to resort early enough and want to hit the slopes. The runs are plentiful and long offering variety for each level of skier. Conditions weren't great but on the last day after a fresh dusting of snow the resort could not have looked more beautiful. The many après ski bars and restaurants were all beautiful inside and service was great everywhere we went. Whether on the mountain or in resort every meal and beer was memorable. Goathall Apres Ski bar in Hinterglemm was standout for a lively ski to door bar, would definitely recommend. The après ski can be as lively or as quiet as you wish with options for both. The food in our hotel was excellent with a generous breakfast buffet each morning, unique afternoon tea (offering much more than just the usual cake) and dinner was a real affair with over 5 courses each night, truly great food. Due to the size of the suites (which would be fantastic for families too) we chose each night to entertain ourselves in each other’s rooms playing games. The rooms really did add to the experience, there was a wireless speaker, TV, mini bar, bathroom with radio and mood lighting and ample storage space. The spa in the hotel offered another element to the trip especially to any injured members of the party (me!). The indoor pool view offered a stunning view of a black run in to resort and the facilities were top notch. I had a very reasonable €42 massage which was one of the best massages I have had anywhere! The sauna, steam room and pool were all fab and really added to the trip.

P&O Azura Short Break to Bruges and Guernsey

22 September 2016

The aim of this trip was to get my husband "on board" with cruising. Having done two myself and many ship visits, I am keen to go for it as my family holiday but I really wanted my husband to know what ship life is like and a short three night break was just the ticket. We were also celebrating our five year anniversary, so kids packed off to nana’s, we went in search of our sea legs. We drove to Southampton and used the effortless meet and greet parking at the docks. Embarkation was slick and quick and in no time at all we were on board Azura. My husband smiled and I knew he was going to enjoy it. We went to the cabin straight away and were really impressed with the size of the Superior Balcony we had booked. Plenty of space for us both and my husband is 6"4! A bottle of champagne and chocolates were waiting for us which was a lovely touch. We went straight out to explore what we could before the muster drill and had a quick visit to the spa, gym, bar (obligatory cocktail) and to the top deck to see the pools. Azura has lovely outside space and a good amount of pools dotted around, these never felt too crowded throughout our stay. Following the muster drill we proceeded to enjoy the Sailaway party as the ship left Southampton setting sail for Bruges. The journey was smooth and effortless and as we dined in the Oriental restaurant that evening, it was easy to forget you are moving at all. The food was fantastic in all the restaurants we ate in however the real highlight was Sindhu, Atol Kulcher's signature restaurant which features on both Azura and Britannia. Wow! What a meal. Every single course (there were four) was sensational. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere and décor transported you to India. I would highly recommend a trip to Sindhu it was a real highlight. From the port in Zeebrugge we grabbed a cab into beautiful Bruges. I have visited Brussels before but not Bruges and was glad we made the trip. A beautiful historic setting with horses and carriages taking tourists on the 45 minute tour they offered around the town. We instead opted to explore on foot and headed first to what felt like chocolatier street however we soon realized that you can't turn a corner in Bruges without another five chocolate shops appearing! Souvenirs bought, we stumbled across the torture museum! Seemed like a bit of fun so down when we went and spent an hour or so learning about historic torture methods - not one for the faint hearted but a real highlight and one I would recommend for something off the beaten track. We then went in search of an infamous Belgian beer and were spoilt for choice. We found a great spot by the canal and tried one (or two) local options, both really nice and a great way to sample local life with a stunning view. After lunch we shopped some more and headed back to the square whilst we waited for our cab back to the ship. I have always loved that cruising allows the freedom to visit some amazing places that perhaps you wouldn't necessarily holiday to, but yet only unpack once! Bruges is just that a real beauty spot which I am glad I have ticked off the list but would struggle to spend longer than two nights in tops. So back to the ship we went ready to set sail for Guernsey. We decided to stay on the ship the day we were in Guernsey. The weather was beautiful and would allow us to sit out by the pool and spend the day relaxing. I had a few treatments in the spa on board whilst hubby used the gym and sauna. The ship is quieter on board when you are in port as many people go ashore to explore. We really enjoyed relaxing and soaking up ship life on our final day. The last day arrived and pulling in to Southampton we were sad the break had come to an end. We had become very fond of Azura but she had done a great job in convincing us that a cruise would really suit our young family and that we may well be back again on Azura to explore the Mediterranean in the future. If you have never cruised before a short break is a fantastic way to experience sailing and ship life and there are many dates and itineraries that I could recommend.

Princesa Yaiza

22 September 2016

I have wanted to try this hotel for a number of years after having sent many families there over the years. It didn't disappoint. This is a high quality family hotel in beautiful Playa Blanca. Nothing was too much trouble, from the glass of champagne at check in to the concierge waving you off at the end of you stay! I have two young children. Neve almost one and Dillon almost four so we knew after four hours on a flight plus the additional travelling that they would be keen to settle in. The transfer from Arrecife was swift in a taxi at just 30 minutes, Dillon was greeted with a balloon, and a glass of champagne for mum and dad. We were given the keys to our room and headed over (past the fish tank aquarium much to the children's delight) to the family area. The room was a delight. We had booked the Kiko Suite which offered a living space and two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Dillon's room was decorated just for children and had an Xbox and children's welcome pack. In his bathroom were children's toiletries and a step for easy access to the toilet and sink. He felt very special straight away. Neve's cot was also pre prepared with toiletries a teddy and spare bedding. All the small touches really helped the children settle in and make them feel very special. Staying in the family wing meant there was an exclusive family restaurant which again eased the stress of dining with young children as everyone was in the same boat. The food in all of the restaurants we went in was excellent and very high quality. The kids club - Kikoland was in a separate area and all age groups were catered for. There is also a soft play in the main hotel which was great for the few cloudy days we had. Neve enjoyed playing there whilst her older brother enjoyed the many activities of Kikoland. The hotel is set right on the beach promenade in the resort of Playa Blanca. Turn left from the hotel and you can walk to the Marina and right will take you in along the sea to Playa Blanca with its many bars and restaurants. Outside of the resort Lanazarote has some great family excursions, there is the Submarine ride at Puerto Calero which is also a nice spot for lunch. There is the Timanfaya National park for a trip the Fire Mountains and Rancho Texas Park for a Zoo Marine experience. All in all a fantastic resort and hotel for a family break and one enjoyed by all.

New York City

10 January 2018

New York New York – so good I’ve been there twice! Like so many others, New York was a must-see destination for me. The sights and sounds of a city you feel you already know because of the movies you have grown up with, or if like me, it was Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Ross and Rachel that put New York City on your travel radar, the wonders of NYC are there to be discovered. On both visits New York has never failed to disappoint and whether you are a first timer or NYC veteran, there is so much to be discovered both on and off the beaten track. First time you go, be a tourist, sight see and visit the attractions, but don’t be afraid to explore outside of downtown Manhattan and discover quirky bars, unique shops and local restaurants in other lesser known districts. On both of my visits the very first thing I did was jump in a yellow cab to the Marriot Marquis Hotel on Times Square and caught the lift up to The View, a revolving bar which allows you to enjoy NYC from the skyline itself. It is a great way to open your eyes to where you will be spending your next few days. From here you can see the Empire State, The Rockefeller Centre and the Chrysler Building, and if you do this by night the views are breath-taking. The cocktails are a little pricey, but the view is priceless! I can highly recommend their Cosmopolitan (a la Carrie Bradshaw). Warning – take comfy shoes. New York is spread out but exploring it on foot allows you to soak up the atmosphere and the diversity of each different area. Day two for me is the Empire State, if you’re up and awake early head straight there and explore this magnificent building. The audio tour is completely worth it to understand the stories of what was once the tallest building in the world. It is told by a New York cab driver and is a great way to experience the Empire State. After the Empire State, shopping on 5th Avenue, The Rockefeller Centre and exploring the wonders of Central Park are all close by. The horse drawn carriage was completely worth it, being tucked up in a blanket with your nearest and dearest, soaking in the diversity of Central Park amidst the hullabaloo of the city’s sky scrapers is one of life’s special moments. If you are visiting at the right time of year then you may also be able to enjoy the ice skating rink and don’t worry if you don’t skate, my husband did not want to brave the ice but equally enjoyed the spectators’ view with a pretzel and mulled cider from the side-lines. After each day you will be tired but the food in New York is to die for and worth venturing back out for in the evening. From breakfast to dinner the choice is so vast, and I am yet to be disappointed! Do your research and ask your hotel concierge to recommend restaurants but whatever you are looking for you will be spoiled for choice! Breakfast has to be a New York diner, lunch needs to be in a deli and dinner should be a special occasion every night whilst you are there! If you are there on a Sunday, ask your concierge where serves a good brunch and enjoy a late morning feast the way the New Yorkers do. If you want something a little different I can highly recommend Molyvos, a Greek restaurant within walking distance from Times Square, perfect for a pre or post theatre dinner. The food is to die for and the service is equally good. On day three it’s off to catch the Staten Island ferry over to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. For me getting off at the statue isn’t worth it, the view you get from the ferry is fabulous enough and the skyline view of the city is equally as impressive from the ferry looking back. However, Ellis Island is a must, the history of this building is magical and the stories of those that have passed through it are well worth a listen. If you miss a guided tour the audio tour is great and allows you to explore at your own leisure. Once back on dry land it is easy to explore Wall Street and Ground Zero and they are all in walking distance from the ferry terminal. If you get the opportunity and there are any hours left in the day then walk, just walk and explore the lesser known areas like Little Italy and China Town. I have walked from the Ferry Terminal to 5th Avenue which is approximately five miles, but it was completely worth it for memories it gave me of a city which is much more than sightseeing and attractions. Madison Square Gardens, City Hall, Broadway, St Patricks Cathedral are all well worth a visit, but you may find you don’t always have the time to do everything so don’t rush and enjoy the sights you do visit. After all, it is a great excuse to come back. New York is everything I imagined it would be and more and the more I visit (believe me I’m not done yet) the more there is to discover and experience. It is a destination we should all escape to and experience living in the movies for a few days. Leaving New York is difficult knowing how much you haven’t yet discovered, but if like me the experiences you have will never be forgotten your memories will be fond ones and you will be certain to return.
