Perfect Portugal August 2018
Usually we like to stay at all-inclusive hotels but decided this time to rent an apartment at the fantastic 5* Vila Sol complex in Vilamoura. I organized our own flights, transfers and car hire as I knew the apartments weren't centrally located.
I am so glad we hired a car as it gave us a chance to explore the amazing coastline of the Algarve with its many stunning beaches and pretty towns. Praia da Falesia and Loules were some of our favourites.
There were also plenty of fabulous restaurants in the area, again most reached by car. We particularly enjoyed Wildfire which is steakhouse located on our complex.
Supermarkets were in abundance and a short drive away, prices very comparable with UK prices, and plenty of brands we know and love.
I have to admit I was a bit worried about not having the entertainment and other children for our boys to play with on this holiday, but I need not have worried, we had a fantastic time, the Algarve is beautiful and I would certainly return again......if only to bump into Rio Ferdinand in Lidl!
