Paradise

Ever wondered what paradise looks like, sounds like and feels like?

Well, wonder no more because I have just seen it’s stunning views, enjoyed the aura of peace and tranquility and experienced the sensations of harmony and oneness with the universe.

We have just returned from a part business/part holiday visit to the beautiful island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.

For our short “holiday time”, we stayed at one of the “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” the all inclusive, boutique style Paradise Cove Resort and Spa on the north west side of the island. Recently refurbished to a high standard the resort only reopened on the 6th September 2019.

We knew we had arrived in paradise when we were shown to our ground floor junior suite, rolled back the blinds and were greeted by stunning views of this gorgeous location from our patio.

If you want all day loud music and lots of party games in the pool etc. this place is not for you!

If you want to luxuriate on the lovely private beach where you walk right into the shallow sea or by the pool or in one of the many two person pontoon areas along the water inlet then come here and soak up the amazing aura and ambience of paradise Mauritian style.

The resort has just 75 suites, a spa and fitness centre, tennis courts and water sports including water skiing, windsurfing, snorkelling and a flat bottom boat for visiting the coral reef nearby.

There are three very different all inclusive restaurants:

XO is located on the top floor of a thatched open air structure with the Cove inlet on one side and the main pool area on the other and serves Asian food fusion style,

The Peninsular restaurant and bar located a short walk away on top of a hill referred to as the Peninsular has spectacular views of the ocean and the water sports taking place below from the boathouse. The food here is an international mix served tapas style with lots of variety in small dishes. There is also a small pool area with sun beds and also comfy settees and armchairs for relaxing as you take in the views with a cocktail or three!

The dining restaurant is where an excellent buffet breakfast is served and is also one of the options for dinner. A Mauritian evening is held every Wednesday and begins with a cocktail party on the private beach with entertainment by local folk, saga, dancers and musicians. This is followed by a splendid three course buffet with music provided for listening to and dancing by an excellent trio.

A fourth restaurant called the Cove offers a romantic experience for couples in bays along the inlet and a menu with an allowance against the extra cost.

Lunch is also available in the Peninsular restaurant or you can have lighter options served in the bar area up above the main pool. There is also a drinks service to your sun beds which are very sturdy and comfortable with thick cushions and large towels provided.

Finally the other element of this fabulous resort is the management and staff who are so welcoming, friendly and efficient, always available and smiling!

If you want to see and experience paradise then you must visit the Paradise Cove Resort and Spa in Mauritius.

We found paradise, you can too!
